The Rotary and Rotaract Conference held in Scarborough is always lets say
‘interesting’ to say the least.
Over the past years there have been quite a few awardees help out with
manning the RYLA stand in the ‘house of friendship’ – ok so that sounds not
so exciting, but teamed with the evenings and the great company it always
turns into somewhat of a fantastic weekend!
Any Rotaracter will tell you that this is one of the highlights – any old
weekend in Scarbro’ might not sound thrilling but this one is – believe me…

It was my 21st there this year and id just like to take this
opportunity to say thanks to Everyone that made 12pm really really special,
the photos show just how embarrassed and yet so happy I was!

That over with it is just a chance to meet up and have a laugh with a few
beers along the way. I hope the RYLA awardees that attended this year had a
good time and saw what being a Rotaracter is all about! Even thought they
are a dying breed they still know how to party and teamed with the scholars
from all over the world we can create an impression on the Rotarians!
Don’t let your introduction to Rotary and the events it holds the work it
does and the many pies it has its finger in go to waste…find out more and
who knows where it might lead you!
We
want the stand at the conference to be bigger and better and more inspiring
than ever before – we have limited resources, but all we need is outgoing
people to shout its virtues and the Rotarians go away thinking differently
about the youth of today… and lets face it, you’ve all discovered on the
course what doing all that is about!
Leave some messages, submit and read each others stories and letters on
here, call and email each other but please please don’t loose touch… this is
hopefully something that you will remember all your lives – I know a day
hasn’t gone by when I haven’t used something that I learnt on RYLA!
Keep in
touch
