Just a quick update on how the RYLA arrangements are going for the summer 2008 Courses.

The admin for it all is certainly starting to pick up now, with about 50% of your Awardees now registered. I have emailed them all (except the ones who didn't provide an email address) updating them of the position and cc'd yourselves.

After the closing date for the Registration Forms, 31st April 2008, I will allocate them onto the two courses. Those that have endorsed the form that they are only available for one of the two weeks I will accommodate. I will then place them on the most suitable course, taking into account where they come from, the right mix of the two sexes, etc. If you are bringing more than one from a long way off I will try and keep them on the same week to avoid you making two incredibly long round-trips. More details of the transport arrangements that you need to prepare for will come another time.

Once I have allocated them to the courses I will send you their Course Handbook, letter to their parents, letter to them and a letter to your Club, which will spell out all the arrangements. Please deliver it to your Awardees as soon as possible after you receive it as it will allow them to prepare and also give them the dates they will be attending.

You should get those (hopefully) the first week in May.

Please keep an eye on the website at www.ryla.org as I will include items on it specifically for the 2008 courses, particularly on the run-up to the courses. And encourage your Awardees to do so too please, I'd hate them to arrive knowing nothing about the programme.

If, for whatever reason, you can't get the completed Registration Forms back to me by the 31st April, please let me know. After that then I am afraid I am unable to guarantee that if there is a particular week that they cannot attend that I can accommodate them on it. So please, with any late registrations don't include any specific course on ones you select after the closing date! If you get that late with your Registration Forms that we have to consider other options then you will know...I'll be in touch!
